The very First EWDA Student Workshop will be organized in the outstanding site of Veyrier-du-Lac, in the French Alps on the edge of Lake Annecy, with the support of the Conference Centre of the Merieux Foundation – Les Pensieres.
The central theme will focus on Emerging Diseases and Zoonoses in Wildlife Reservoirs. Following oral communications, students will have the opportunity to communicate with established European researchers during roundtable sessions. Wildlife disease investigation, ecology, and management will be covered through current examples of emerging and zoonotic pathogens in a range of wildlife species.
The main objective is not only to gain up-to-date knowledge concerning current emerging and zoonotic diseases in wildlife reservoirs, but also to consolidate one's scientific habits of mind, fundamentally underlying any research project.
Applicants should have a desire to further their knowledge of wildlife disease issues and research and be students undertaking or intending to undertake post-graduate studies (e.g. MSc, PhD).
